On December 9, 2013 17:34 UTC UTC, the Device Cloud Technology Team observed an issue with the application tier affecting a subset of our customers. This resulted in a performance degradation for 14 minutes from 17:34 UTC to 17:48 UTC. During this time, Customers may have experienced difficulty accessing devices, device data or web services. A brief deadlock in the database tier caused the degradation in the application tier for the time outlined above. The Device Cloud Technology Team was able to restore the application tier to normal performance levels shortly afterward.
Actions to Prevent Future Incidents:
- The Device Cloud Technology Team is investigating the root cause of the issue with the database tier and will implement appropriate changes once identified
